  1. Superb version of a song I had the pleasure of seeing performed live twice. However, I once saw on TV Jerry playing a solo acoustic version. Does anyone know of a recording of an acoustic version?

  2. All I know is something like a bird
    Within her sang
All I know she sang a little while
    And then flew on
Tell me all that you know
I'll show you snow and rain
If you hear that same sweet song again
    Will you know why?
Anyone who sings a tune so sweet
    Is passin' by
    Laugh in the sunshine, sing
Cry in the dark, fly through the night
Don't cry now, don't you cry
Don't you cry anymore, la, la, la, la
Sleep in the stars, don't you cry
Dry your eyes on the wind, la, la, la, la

  3. Nice to see a person wearing a Grateful Dead shirt in the background

    The tradition continues!!

I cannot wait to get back to Boulder Canyon and play my liberating drum set!!
A drummer of the Denver blues scene!!

  4. Jerry's Strat days were my favorite.
Grateful Dead and JGB stuff is just stellar playing.
They recently released a Jerry & Merle recording of lonely Avenue a few years ago and it's hands down the best playing I've ever heard from Jerry it's got the orange and blue cover on it Jan 23, 1973 I think.
The version of I know it's a sin on the Same album is also killer

  5. can't even begin to understand how lucky and grateful I am to be able to say that any single frame of video is available portraying the Grateful Dead in 1972. It's a hallmark of this civilization and I am here for it!

  6. Eugene used to be a music town. I'm sure Jerry would agree. It's sad to see people just trying to keep doing the dead covers, he'd want people to move on to a new style of music I'm sure.

  7. It is my contention that, while the moon landings were mankind's greatest technical achievement, this particular gig represents our cultural peak.

  8. This is one of the best examples of Grateful Dead being “on.” When they played like this, there simply was not a better band in the world.
