I'm sorry, I was a fan of Naya since the early 90s but what made her go to a lake w/ just Josey and not another adult, especially now from what I'm hearing she had prescription drugs and alcohol drugs in her system. I take prescription drugs for anxiety and insomnia and I have a 4-year-old too and I know if I don't feel right my head like if I feel dizzy or something there's no way I'm putting myself or especially my son in a car and driving off anywhere! Let alone out in the water!! Naya, why did you do that to Josey for him to have to have seen his mommy go bye bye forever and for you have to lose your life?Y'all could have gone to the park or something. Rest in peace and I hope little Josey will be ok, but at almost 5 back in July, now 5 this month, he's old enough to remember that for life, the day his mama went away forever.
Naya was probably doing some extreme dieting. It is possible she simply lost consciousness when she went from warm air into the cold water. This was a tragic accident, pure and simple. RIP, Naya.

valume and alchol in her system but nothing that can be linked to causing her death……………………she was swimming in a fucking lake and forced to try and save a kid suddenly . while partially drunk and relaxed and almost certainly not 100% active in the brain from the mix. hell they dont let you drive a electric scooter while taking prescriptions specially with alcohol . and this girl was on a boat with a child alone in a big deep lake……………………..is it really that hard to put 2 and 2 together .

It pisses me off how the news plays it off like she casually had "therapeutic" levels of amphetamine, and valium – therapeutic levels are high doses and the drugs she was on are for people who have serious anxiety issues and the adderall is prescribed for adhd. They say she has no medical issues yet she is taking prescription medications. They should highlight her conditions that she was taking the medication for, otherwise it seems they were taken recreationally which is extremely irresponsible. Therapeutic levels are high doses – I know this from experience. She also takes antihistamines for her vertigo which you shouldn't mix with diazepam. AND the combination is an upper and a downer, a knowledgeable Dr. would never allow her to take them at the same time because of potential heart and blood pressure complications. And she had beer on the boat? Even if they were barely drank you can't beat and drink and with her son on board, wow this girl is genius. I don't know what caused her to drown but either way her toxicology report showed how irresponsible she was that day.

She could have taken the valium 2 days prior and it would have been in her system. Same with the alcohol. She could have had a glass a night before. Not related to her death. They should have reported how toxicology works to not spread false ideas of her death/make people question her parenting skills. RIP NAYA!
Cold water.
The lake temp was probably in the 60's at the surface, much colder below.
Sometimes cold water gets pushed to the surface from currents. People can literally go into shock jumping into cold water with their arms and legs not working well.
Doesn't happen too everyone.

Please be kind, accidents do happen! Unfortunately Naya paid with her precious life for her bravery in life. In my opinion, anyone is fearless for going solo boating with a small child. Maybe there is a lesson here….please always have another adult present on an excursion like this one just in case in an emergency scenario. R.I.P Naya, your precious little boy will always carry the legacy of your unconditional love.
